Padlocks to Faith on Church Doors

Many people asked at the May Presbytery meeting for more information about Kent’s presentation “Padlocks to Faith on Church Doors”. In particular, The Australian Communities Report – Research into Key Belief Blockers and Questions About Faith, Christianity and God Held by Australians Today (commissioned by Olive Tree Media and conducted by McCrindle Research) will be useful in exploring this further.

You or you congregation can learn more or purchase a copy of the full report at http://olivetreemedia.com.au/the-apologetics-series.aspx

God is Where?! – Conference 1-6 July 2012

As you may know, about every two years, Uniting Church deacons gather for a conference, and this year deacons of the Synod of NSW & the ACT are the hosts. However, this conference is not just for deacons – there is an open invitation to all people who are interested in God’s call to serve humanity in the face of changing needs. The conference is a partnership between the UCA national deacon network (DUCA) and United Theological College.

Please see the attached brochure for conference details. We expect that it will be a ‘cutting edge’ conference – addressing several significant public issues, and including relevant Biblical reflection.

Consultations Training Day

Here is a flyer for the upcoming Consultations Training Day, hosted by the Sydney Presbytery Consultations Committee, to be held on Saturday 12th May, at Church In The Marketplace, Bondi Junction.
I ask that you circulate this flyer to your respective congregations, particularly to individuals that you feel might benefit from this workshop, and who may be interested in volunteering for the Presbytery in this capacity. You may like to consider attending yourself, too!
This workshop is around 2 and a half weeks away, and registrations are essential for catering and other planning purposes, so please ensure that anyone wishing to attend email or call me (details below) by Saturday 5th May.
We hope to see you there!
Blessings,
Rads (Secretary, Consultations Committee)
